I have not seen a video from TED.com that in less time (less than 8 minutes) to give an explanation as completely and accurately to such an important issue In this case, "how is generated the culture and civilization." The rapporteur V Ramachandran is a neurologist who through explanation of a feature of the human brain, the existence of mirror neurons, masterfully explains why humans are so well prepared to learn (and create a culture) and to empathize with others, and so closely united to form groups (and create civilizations.) Seem designed to merge with others, it is as if we had the brains connected to the rest of our fellow humans. A small detail of how the brain works but makes a big difference.
This is another of those videos that one can regard as indispensable.

And while we're here talking brain I can not re-link here with this other video of a neurologist (Jil Bolte Taylor) who suffered a stroke that beat, but let him be Witness the efforts of his brain in real time, to overcome this attack while watching the game of responsibilities of the two hemispheres of the brain. Another video that makes you feel very different than before viewing.
