May 6. Barcelona: Presentation of the study "The press and international cooperation" Analysis of the coverage of development cooperation in nine European newspapers.

The main objective of this research is to analyze how the media, specifically the nine newspapers considered (El País, La Vanguardia, ABC, Le Monde, Le Figaro, Libération, The Times, Daily Telegraph and The Guardian), participate in the process of dissemination and knowledge of the reality of the developing countries, challenges of development and international cooperation.

The meeting aims to analyze the effects of economic and financial crisis on development, with a new perspective on potential opportunities, especially in southern countries, in order to raise awareness among media sharing key data and help enrich the views and analysis of these published and disseminated.
The meeting will be attended by directors and editors of major media in Spain and Southern countries to determine the responsibility and role that this sector can play in finding responsible answers that states, businesses, political parties, trade unions and civil organizations can and should provide for the consequences of this situation.
